Oktoberfest and Parades

Yesterday there were further developments in the ongoing investigation into the activites at West Bowie Village Hall.
The city is advising people to plan for traffic during the homecoming parades for both Bowie High School and Bowie State University starting around 9 a.m. A map of the route for the Bowie State parade was posted on the city's website. Bowie High's parade will start at Belair Bath and Tennis Club and go to the school down Belair Road, which will be closed in both directions.
The Ascension Church is holding its annual Oktoberfest event from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, and food, ride and game tickets are only 25 cents a piece.
Congressman Steny Hoyer is hosting a meet and greet in Old Bowie at the Simple Pleasures Ice Cafe at 10 a.m. Click here for more details.
Tomorrow there's a skate contest at the Bowie Skate Park. Entry fee is $20 and includes a free T-shirt. Here's the flier for the event.
