The City of Bowie continues to make strides towards sustainability, and it wants to help you SAVE MONEY too! The next installment of the Community Climate Action Series will take place on November 20th and will provide attendees with practical ways to go green and save ‘green’.
The City has invited several energy efficiency experts (David St. Jean from the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA), Deborah Drake from BGE, and Crystal Faison from Shepherd Energy) to present on November 20th at 7:00 p.m. in Room 121 of the Kenhill Center. Presentation topics will focus on EmPOWER Maryland as well as on BGE energy efficiency incentives that are available for Bowie residents and business owners. More info on the EmPOWER Maryland initiative can be found here.
Additionally, a short discussion will follow the presentations to get feedback on a draft of Bowie’s Community Climate Action Plan. This is part two of a three part discussion series that focuses on what Bowie as a community can do to reduce its climate change impact. The third part of the series will focus on alternative transportation (walking, biking, and public transit).
