Belair Mansion and the Northampton Plantation and Slave Quarters Archaeological Park are featured among a statewide network of historic locations that illuminate the journeys of freedom seekers and the legacy of slavery across the region.
   

• Academy for Excellence Celebrates 2026 Graduates (mdcounties.org) — Two Bowie officials, Mary Kathleen Anna Hartig and Fredy Rosales Portillo, have completed Maryland's Academy for Excellence in Local Governance, a training program for municipal leaders. • Son's gift earns dad a $100,000 Maryland Lottery prize (upi.com) — A father from the Washington area is $100,000 richer thanks to a Pick 5 ticket bought at the 7-Eleven on Ruby Lockhart Boulevard in Bowie.
