PG County Expands Grab-And-Go Meals To 43 Schools As Of March 30
Prince George's County Public Schools will open ten more meal sites on March 30, bringing the total number of sites to 43.
UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Prince George's County Public Schools will open ten more meal sites on March 30 as the district follows a state directive close schools due to the new coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, into late April. And in a change from the first few weeks of the program, parents may now pick up the meals.
Gov. Larry Hogan and State Superintendent of Education Dr. Karen Salmon recently said that all schools in Maryland would remain closed through April 24.
The new elementary school sites are opening for breakfast, lunch and a snack starting Monday, March 30, bringing the total number of student meal sites to 43, the district said in a news release on Sunday.

The new meal sites are Bradbury Heights, Brandywine, Carrollton, Glassmanor, Hollywood, James McHenry, Ridgecrest, Riverdale, Robert Frost and Woodridge. Three sites have been closed due to low participation: J. Frank Dent and Longfields elementary schools and Benjamin Stoddert Middle School.
Under relaxed federal guidelines, parents may now pick up the “grab and go” meals. Parents must bring a student ID or report card with them if the student is unable to come to the site.
