PG County Police Officer Suspended After Domestic Arrest

The officer, from Prince Frederick, was charged with assault and child abuse, authorities said.

A Prince George’s County Police officer has been suspended without pay after what his supervisors call a domestic-related arrest.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office charged Corporal Steven Moure, 35, of Prince Frederick, on Monday with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of second-degree child abuse, according to online court records. He was released on bond Tuesday.

Police Chief Mark Magaw issued the following statement regarding Moure’s arrest: “The allegations against Corporal Moure are troubling. Prince George’s County Police officers are expected to behave in a professional manner, both on and off duty. If an officer breaks the law, that officer will be held accountable.”

Moure has been employed by the Prince George’s police force for nine years and is assigned to the Bureau of Administration.

Online court records show Moure was in court multiple times for a divorce from Margaret Whitehead, and child custody issues. The records show Moure had full custody of three children when his divorce was finalized in November 2013.
