PG County Teen Fled Cops At 110 MPH During MD Chase, Police Say

The 18-year-old faces multiple charges following the November pursuit in Talbot County, authorities said.

TALBOT COUNTY, MD — A Prince George's County teen is facing charges after authorities said he led deputies on a high-speed chase where he ignored traffic laws and reached speeds of 110 mph.

Dariusz Jordan Hentz, 18, of Upper Marlboro, was charged on Jan. 28 with counts including obstructing and hindering a police officer, fleeing and eluding a police officer, and reckless driving in connection with the November incident, the Talbot County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday in a news release.

According to authorities, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office were conducting traffic enforcement on Ocean Gateway near Howell Point Cutoff Road around 3:45 a.m. on Nov. 10 when they saw a Mercedes SUV traveling at more than 110 mph.

Deputies attempted to stop the SUV, authorities said, but the driver — later identified as Hentz — refused to comply and fled at a high rate of speed.

The pursuit continued through Trappe and into Easton, where authorities said Hentz ignored traffic laws and drove recklessly to avoid apprehension. Deputies eventually terminated the chase due to the public safety risk, authorities said.
