PG County Positive Coronavirus Cases Near 7,600; 265 Deaths

The Maryland Department of Health confirmed 265 new cases of the new coronavirus Monday in Prince George's County.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The Maryland Department of Health confirmed Monday 265 new cases of COVID-19, the illness associated with the new coronavirus, in Prince George's County. The overall total number of positive cases in the county is 7,598.

In addition, 33 more people have died due to COVID-19, bringing the overall total of deaths in the county attributed to the disease to 265.

Prince George's County still has the highest number of confirmed cases of the new coronavirus of any county in the state, according to the latest data from the Maryland Department of Health. Second on the list is Montgomery County, with a total of 5,384 positive infections.

The COVID-19 testing and screening site the Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland National Guard opened March 30 at FedEx Field closed up shop last week. COVID-19 testing is switching to a new location elsewhere in Prince George's County.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If this is not available, use hand sanitizer that is at least 60 percent alcohol.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Keep 6 feet of space between people.
  • Stay home.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
