FedEx Coronavirus Test Site Closes; Testing Switches To Cheverly
Prince George's County health officials are moving coronavirus testing from FedEx Field to another facility in Cheverly starting Monday.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The COVID-19 testing and screening site the Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland National Guard opened March 30 at FedEx Field closed up shop on Wednesday. COVID-19 testing is switching to a new location elsewhere in Prince George's County.
County Executive Angela Alsobrooks announced in an email Friday to Prince Georgians that testing will begin Monday, May 4, at Prince George’s County Health Department’s Cheverly Clinic (3003 Hospital Drive, Cheverly, MD 20785).
Open five days a week, the new testing site will allow county health officials to expand testing capacity without worrying about weather conditions, which was a problem at FedEx Field. In addition, the Health Department is looking to expand testing at other sites around the county.

These actions include increasing hospital capacity to meet the expected surge of patients, ordering the use of face coverings to slow the spread of the virus, putting in place measures to protect our frontline employees, and providing critical financial assistance to businesses and workers."
