PG Police Officer Dies in Overnight Car Crash
Prince George's County Police say the fatal Lanham accident happened in the line of duty as the officer made a traffic stop.

Prince George’s County Police Officer Brennan Rabain, 26, was killed in the line of duty overnight during a car crash.
The department said the accident happened in the 9500 block of Greenbelt Road in Lanham.

Chief Mark Magaw said Rabain was attempting to make a traffic stop when his car left the road.
WTOP reports the accident happened about 3:30 a.m. when Rabain lost control of his cruiser and crashed into a wooden fence.

Chief Magaw and his command staff were at the accident scene Saturday morning to salute the fallen officer as his body was taken from the crash site.
The department’s Twitter feed said: “We’re saddened to share one of our officers died in the line of duty today. Thank you for the outpouring of support.”
Rabain had been on the force for less than two years and leaves behind a 3-year-old child, the news station says.
WTOP traffic reporters said the roads this morning had patches of black ice, with numerous accidents reported across the D.C. area.
