Authorities say a woman was walking in the 3800 block of 38th Avenue in Cottage City about 8:15 p.m. March 4 when the suspect allegedly grabbed her from behind, put a knife to her throat and attacked her in a secluded area, police say.

On Thursday, detectives identified Diggs as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. Friday afternoon, the department’s Fugitive Squad captured Diggs in Waldorf, where he was arrested without incident.
