GLENARDEN, MD — An elementary school volunteer in Prince George’s County has been charged with multiple counts of producing child pornography at an elementary school and pool, and police fear there are more than the ten victims identified to date who have yet to come forward.
Deonte Carraway, 22, of the 7900 block of Glenarden Parkway in Glenarden has been charged with 10 counts of felony child pornography, sexual abuse of a minor and second-degree sexual offense. Additional charges are likely, police said Monday.

Carraway has reportedly admitted his involvement in making child pornography, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department.
Investigators say Carraway targeted victims and videotaped sexual acts between minors during the school day at Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School in Glenarden. Detectives believe sex abuse occurred and child pornography was produced at the Glenarden Municipal Center and Theresa Banks Memorial Aquatic Center, as well as in private homes.

Carraway was a paid assistant at the elementary school during the 2014-2015 school year, and was a volunteer teacher’s assistant this school year. Carraway was also the director for the Glenarden Voices of Youth Choir.
The ongoing abuse was reported to police Friday after a victim’s relative found a nude photo on the child’s cell phone. The photo had been sent to Carraway through the Kik messenger app for smart phones.
Throughout the weekend, detectives began unraveling what police call a wide-ranging investigation.
So far, detectives have identified at least 10 victims ranging in age from 9 to 13, shown in an estimated 40 videos performing sexual acts on each other or alone at the direction of Carraway. Investigators believe Carraway sexually abused some of the victims.
Carraway is being held by the Department of Corrections on a $1 million bond.
Police said they are working with Prince George’s County Public Schools officials; the system has not issued a statement on the charges.
Anyone concerned that a child has been a victim is asked to call the police department’s Child and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Unit at 301-772-4930. Authorities anticipate the investigation will last several months.
