Police Investigate Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Landover

The victim was not in a crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle, police say.

A woman who was trying to cross busy Landover Road Friday morning was hit and killed by a car, police say.

The accident was reported about 6 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Landover Road and Matthew Henson Avenue. Prince George’s County Police say a woman in the roadway was found suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators believe the victim was crossing Landover Road when she was hit by a car. The victim was not in a crosswalk at the time.

The driver stayed on the scene, police say.

The victim’s name will be released when her family has been notified, authorities said.
