Police Release Victim's Name in Fatal Pedestrian Collision

The victim was not in a crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle, Prince George's County Police say.

Authorities on Monday released the name of a woman who was killed trying to cross busy Landover Road but not walking in the crosswalk.

The accident was reported about 6 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Landover Road and Matthew Henson Avenue. Prince George’s County Police say Adjoko Lassey, 53, of Normandy Road in Landover was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators believe Lassey was crossing Landover Road when she was hit by a car. She was not in a crosswalk at the time.

The driver stayed on the scene, police say.
