Poll Monitors Present At Prince George's Voting Sites On Election Day

The U.S. Department of Justice has stationed poll monitors at Prince George's County voting sites Tuesday, as well as at other nearby sites.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The U.S. Department of Justice has sent poll monitors to Prince George’s County along with Prince William County, Manassas city and Manassas Park city. The DOJ is checking for adherence to federal voting rights laws in 64 different jurisdictions across the country in 24 states on Election Day.

Voting site monitors will include personnel from the Civil Rights Division and from U.S. Attorneys’ Offices.

On Election Day, Civil Rights Division personnel also will be available all day to receive complaints from the public related to possible violations of the federal voting rights laws via a complaint form that can be accessed on the department’s website https://civilrights.justice.gov/ or by telephone toll-free at 800-253-3931.

Complaints related to disruption at a polling place can be reported to local election officials including those officials at a polling place.
