Prince George's County Public Schools Make Weather Announcement

Public schools and school offices in Prince George’s County will open on a two-hour delay on Thursday, Feb. 19, school officials announced Thursday morning.

Baden Elementary School will be closed because of mechanical issues.

Here’s the announcement the school system issued Thursday:

Thursday, February 19, 2015 - Code Orange - Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) – Schools and offices will open with a two hour delay. EMERGENCY PERSONNEL must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave. (Las escuelas comenzarån dos horas después del horario normal.)

There will be NO work-study transportation. (Those students should NOT report to school.)

There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.

Any other school program requiring transportation prior to 12 noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center

All field trips will be cancelled.

Food Services will offer breakfast.
