Public schools in Prince George’s County will be closed on Monday, March 2.

Monday, March 2, 2015 - Code Yellow_ 6:30am Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) – Schools and offices are closed. EMERGENCY PERSONNEL only must report to work. (Código Amarillo – Todas las escuelas permanecen cerradas. Todas las oficinas permanecen cerradas. Solamente el PERSONAL DE EMERGENCIA debe reportarse al trabajo.)

Due to below-freezing temperatures, the National Weather Service issued a special weather statement Monday morning alerting people that untreated surfaces are icy, particularly sidewalks; in addition, weather officials said that fog could limit visibility to one-quarter mile.
Previous announcement: Prince George’s County Public Schools will delay the start of classes by two hours on Monday, March 2.
Emergency staff must report to work at their regular time.
The notice from the school system says:
Code Orange - Prince George’s County Public Schools - Schools and offices will open with a two hour delay. Emergency personnel must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave. (LAS ESCUELAS COMENZARÁN DOS HORAS DESPUÉS DEL HORARIO NORMAL)
- There will be NO work-study transportation. (Those students should NOT report to school.)
- There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center, half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.
- Any other school program requiring transportation prior to noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center
- All field trips will be canceled.
- Food Services will offer breakfast.
