Prince George's County Schools Make Weather Announcement
Classes will be impacted by winter weather on Tuesday, Jan. 27. County offices will open at 10 a.m.

On Tuesday morning, Prince George’s County Public Schools canceled classes.
- Prince George’s County Public Schools are closed.
- Offices within Prince George’s County Public Schools are closed.
- Code yellow is in effect.
- Emergency personnel only must report to work.
- Tuesday’s Board of Education budget work session and public hearing are cancelled.
Also, the Prince George’s County Government is on a delayed opening until 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, with a liberal eave option for all non-essential employees. All county buildings will open at 10 a.m. Essential personnel should report as assigned.
The region is under a winter weather advisory for snow until 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Snowfall is expected to continue through mid-morning, with 0.5 to 1 inch of additional accumulation falling between 5 and 10 a.m., according to the weather service.
Roads, bridges and overpasses may be slippery. The Maryland Transportation Authority advised allowing extra time for those who need to hit the road Tuesday.
