Schools to Hold Family Support Day Dec. 5

Prince George’s County Public Schools will host its Head Start Program Family Support Community Resource Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at H. Winship Wheatley Early Childhood Center, located at 8801 Ritchie Drive in Capitol Heights.

The event will provide families with access to a variety of health, family, employment, educational resources, and an opportunity to attend an autism awareness or father engagement workshop.

The following organizations will provide informational tables:

• Judy Hoya Family Learning Center
• Just Kids Education Services
• University Maryland Police Department
• Prince George’s County Police and Fire Departments
• Child Find
• Head Start Recruitment Division
• Bowie State/ STEP Program
• Women, Infant, and Child (W.I.C.)
• Financial Planning/Credit Repair
• Children’s Development Clinic-University of Maryland
• Prince George’s County Local Library
• Prince George’s County Resource Center
• United Health Care

Families will enjoy a performance by the district’s Head Start students.

Participants can enjoy light refreshments, door prizes, and parent kits, plus giveaways are available, on a first come, first served basis.
