Police Continue To Search For 2nd Suspect In 62-Year-Old Man's Stabbing Death

Police have arrested 1 suspect and are searching for a 2nd in connection to the fatal stabbing of 62-year-old Mervyn Daniel in an eatery.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — The search continues for a second suspect in the fatal stabbing of 62-year-old Mervyn Daniel of Capitol Heights. One suspect has been arrested and charged in connection to Daniel's death that happened earlier this month in Seat Pleasant.

Police have arrested 37-year-old Jesse Culley of Capitol Heights and continue to search for 21-year-old Raykia Poston of Capitol Heights. According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the suspects and victim lived in the same residence.

On July 8 at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department and Prince George’s County Police Department were called to the 5900 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway for a stabbing. Officers found Daniel unresponsive inside a restaurant with stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, the Prince George's Police Department noted.

Poston has been charged with first-degree murder and related charges for stabbing Daniel. Culley has been charged with accessory after the fact. A preliminary investigation has revealed the victim was stabbed during a dispute.
