Student Takes Loaded Gun To School, Faces Multiple Charges: Prince George's Co. Police

A 16-year-old student was arrested at his Prince George's County high school after he was found with a loaded handgun, according to police.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Central High School student has been arrested for taking a gun to school, officials said. The 16-year-old boy was taken into custody Tuesday at the school, located in the 200 block of Cabin Branch Road in Capitol Heights.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the school resource officer and Prince George’s County Public Schools security personnel were notified by a teacher that the student was armed. That student was located and a loaded ghost gun (one without a serial number) was recovered from his jacket, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

The student has been charged as an adult with a handgun on person, dangerous weapon on school property, possession of a firearm by a minor and loaded handgun on person.
