Suitland High School Shooting: Teen Charged With Attempted Murder
Prince George's County police said a 16-year-old turned himself in Tuesday and was charged with attempted murder after a Suitland shooting.

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — A 16-year-old boy is facing an attempted murder charge in connection with a shooting at Suitland High School in District Heights last week.
Prince George's County police said the teen would be charged as an adult in the shooting; however, authorities did not release his name.
Police were called to Suitland High School on Dec. 8 around 10 a.m. after a group of students got into an argument outside the building that turned into a physical fight. According to authorities, the teen pulled out a gun and fired multiple times, hitting a 14-year-old student.

Police said a school resource officer provided first aid to the student, who was later taken to the hospital. The student remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, police said Tuesday.
On the day of the shooting, police took a 14-year-old student into custody, but later determined he was not involved in the shooting.

The 16-year-old boy is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder. Police are still trying to determine a motive.
