Suspect Found After Year-Long Manhunt, Charged With Sex Abuse Of A Minor
A man on the run for the past year finally was found by Prince George's sheriff's deputies and US Marshals, charged in sex abuse of a minor.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — After a year of eluding law enforcement, the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office, along with U.S. Marshals, has arrested Keith Welch, who has been charged with the sex abuse of a minor.
According to the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office, Welch engaged in multiple inappropriate sexual encounters with a minor over a period of several years. The Prince George’s County Child Advocacy Center assisted in the investigation, which led to Welch being identified as the suspect and charged.
A tip received through Crime Stoppers enabled deputies to track Welch down and take him into custody. Additional charges include second-degree rape, second-degree assault, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense and telephone misuse: obscene communications.
