Teen Carjackers Lead Cops On Car Chase, Hide In Woods: Prince George's Police

Two teenager boys carjacked an SUV, led police on a chase then one hid in the woods. They face carjacking charges, police say.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two teenage boys from Washington, D.C., face charges in connection to the armed carjacking of a vehicle in Oxon Hill.

The incident happened Wednesday shortly after midnight in the 1300 block of Iverson Street. Oxon Hill patrol officers were contacted by a woman who said two suspects had demanded she give them her SUV at gunpoint.

About 30 minutes later, Prince George's Police Department's special Washington-area vehicle enforcement team found the carjacked SUV near Naylor Road and Suitland Parkway. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the 15-year-old driver refused to stop. Officers began pursuing the vehicle, which ended when the 15-year-old and a 17-year-old passenger jumped out of the SUV near Forestville Road, according to the police department.

The 17-year-old suspect was arrested nearby and has been charged with armed carjacking as an adult. With the assistance of the Guardian helicopter, K9 units and detectives, the 15-year-old driver was found hiding in nearby woods. He was arrested without incident.
