Teens Arrested For Car Break-Ins In Bowie: Police

Two teens, ages 19 and 17, were arrested for breaking into cars near Lake Overlook Drive in Bowie, police said.

BOWIE, MD — Two teens were arrested for breaking into cars near Lake Overlook Drive in Bowie.

Officers received a 911 call from a "diligent citizen" regarding two people loitering and tampering with cars, police said.

Police were able to quickly locate the suspects — Chima NNaka, 19, of Mitchellville and a 17-year-old juvenile male. Both are charged for breaking into two cars, police said.

Items that were stolen from inside of the victims' cars were recovered from the suspects.

"We need your help to stop this type of crime. Please do not hesitate to report suspicious or unusual activity - and when possible, take valuables with you when you leave your vehicle," police said in the arrest statement.
