Tween Shot On Trampoline In Front Yard Of Hyattsville Home: Prince George's Police

A 13-year-old girl was shot while jumping on her trampoline in the front yard of her home. Police are searching for the suspect or suspects.

HYATTSVILLE, MD — Shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday, Prince George's County police officers were summoned to a house in the 5600 block of Hamilton Street for a report of a shooting of a 13-year-old girl on her trampoline.

The tween was jumping on the trampoline in front of her house while her dog sat nearby. A red car pulled up with at least two people inside, a witness told FOX 5, and someone opened fire. The tween was hit by gunfire and the dog ran off. The car left the area.

According to FOX 5, police officers roped off the neighborhood and went house to house, interviewing potential witnesses. The girl's family said she is expected to recover but has been "traumatized" by the incident.
