Two Bowie Schools to Host 5K Walks on Weekend: ICYMI

The walks are fundraisers for a scholarship fund and to support special education in the area.

Two Bowie area schools will hold 5K walks this weekend as fundraisers.

Bowie High School will host its third annual Chuck Pacholkiw Memorial Scholarship 5K Race/Walk Saturday to honor the memory and accomplishments of BHS Class of 2005 graduate Chuck Pacholkiw, who died from cancer in 2010.

This event has awarded over $15,000 in scholarships to deserving Bowie High School students.

The race and walk will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at the Bowie High School Track, 15200 Annapolis Road in Bowie.

C. Elizabeth Rieg Regional School will host its first 5K Walk in support of special education in the Bowie area. The goal is to raise money for students and increase community partnerships at the school.
