Upper Marlboro Fire Station Catches On Fire: Official
In a strange twist of events, a fire station in Upper Marlboro caught on fire after the engine of an ambulance parked in its bay ignited.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A fire station caught on fire early Sunday morning after an ambulance's engine ignited in its bay.
At 5:12 a.m., smoke alarms alerted eight firefighters at the Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department, located at 14915 Pratt Street station in Upper Marlboro, that a fire had broken out.
"We do have our share of fires in Prince George’s County, but running a fire within one of our own fire stations is very unique," Department Public Information Director Alan Doubleday told WJLA. "It doesn’t happen very often."

According to Doubleday, it's believed the fire started in the engine compartment of the ambulance, which has been listed as a complete loss.
"The ambulance did burn with so much intensity, that it scorched the side of Rescue Squad 20," Doubleday said.
