What's Open, Closed Christmas Weekend 2022 In Prince George's County

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — County and local government offices will be closed Dec. 26 in observance of the Christmas holiday. There will not be any trash or recycling collection Monday for county customers. There will not be any changes to curbside bulky, recycling and trash collection for the rest of the week, however.

All branches of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System will be closed Friday through Monday.

Prince George's County Public Schools will be closed for winter break Dec. 23 through Jan. 2.

The following county services and facilities will be closed Dec. 26:

• Animal Services Facility, 3750 Brown Station Road
• Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
• Brown Station Road Public Convenience Drop-off Center, 3501 Brown Station Road
• Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
• Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
• Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center
• Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility, 1000 Ritchie Road
• Prince George’s County Organics Composting Facility

TheBus, a public transit service, will operate a Saturday service schedule Christmas Eve with the last trips at 4 p.m. to the end of the line. TheBus will not operate Christmas Day or Dec. 26. The county’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate Sunday or Monday.

Also, PGC311 will be closed Monday. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at PGC311.com.

The Bowie city gym, ice arena and museums will be open Christmas Eve. The city gym and ice arena will open Dec. 26 but museums and the senior center will be closed that day.
