What's Open, Closed On July 4, 2023, In Bowie, Prince George's County
Patch has the scoop on July 4 holiday trash pick-up schedule adjustments and office closures.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — With the Fourth of July falling on a Tuesday, government offices will be closed and some services will be altered in observance of Independence Day on Tuesday.
Maryland courts are open Monday but will be closed Tuesday.
The Prince George's County Memorial Library System branches will be closed Tuesday in observance of the 4th of July. Other branches may have additional closures due to ongoing projects.

In Bowie, city offices will be closed Tuesday. There will be no refuse or recycling services on these dates; services will resume on the next regularly scheduled day.
In Greenbelt, city offices will be closed Tuesday. The Greenbelt Connection will not be operating. The Tuesday refuse/recycling collection will take place Wednesday, Wednesday on Thursday and Thursday on Friday. There will be not be any appliance, hard plastics or yard waste collections on Friday.

In Upper Marlboro, city offices will be closed but trash will be picked up as usual.
In Hyattsville, city offices will be closed Tuesday and Tuesday’s trash pickup will be moved to Wednesday; all other trash routes for the week of July 3 – 7 including Monday’s compost and yard waste pickup will remain the same. County recycling routes will shift starting on Tuesday to the following day from Wednesday through Saturday.
In College Park, city offices will be closed Tuesday. When the city is closed, refuse and recycling collections will shift one day. Special collections may only be picked up one day that week.
In Laurel, all offices will be closed Tuesday and Tuesday trash and recycling pickups will shift to Wednesday. All bulk pickups are cancelled this week due to the shifting schedules.
In Riverdale Park, the city office will be closed Tuesday.
In University Park, the town hall will be closed Tuesday.
TheBus will not operate Tuesday but resume regular operations Wednesday. The county’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate Tuesday either.
PGC311 will be closed Tuesday and resume regular operations Wednesday. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com.
