What's Open, Closed in Prince George's County Presidents' Day 2016

Some county offices, services and schools will not be running on the Feb. 15 holiday.

BOWIE, MD--Prince George’s County government offices will be closed on Feb. 15 for Presidents’ Day. Specific facilities and operations are noted below.

Prince George’s County Public Schools and offices will also be closed on the Monday holiday.

  • Animal Services Facility: Closed
  • Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill: Open
  • Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center: Open
  • Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site: Closed
  • Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site: Closed
  • Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center: Open
  • Prince George’s County Materials Recycling Facility: Open
  • Prince George’s County Yard Waste Composting Facility: Open
  • Bulky Trash Collection: No Collection
  • Trash Collection in County-Contracted Areas: Services Operating on Regular Schedule
  • Curbside Recycling Collection: Services Operating on Regular Schedule
  • All Community Centers, Arts Centers, Indoor Pool Complexes, Sports Facilities, and Regional Parks will remain open.
  • All Senior Activity Centers will be closed, and Historic Sites will be available for rentals only.
  • Department of Parks and Recreation offices will be closed.

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation, will provide regular service on all routes, except Route 51 (service to the Equestrian Center/Courthouse) on Feb. 15.

In addition, the County’s Para-Transit and Call-A-Bus service will not operate on Feb. 15. Regular service operations of the Para-transit services and Call-A-Bus will resume on Feb. 16.

The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will be closed on Feb. 15. Normal business hours will resume on Feb. 16.

Prince George’s County Click 3-1-1 will also be closed on Feb. 15 and will return to normal operations on Feb. 16. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online.
