In many households children are preparing to go to school. Some children will be entering school for the first time with much excitement and some anxiety while others are finishing up their last year. In my household, my daughter will be entering her first year of college while my son is finishing his last year and beginning his MBA program.
What a blessing it is to be able to pour love and guidance into young minds. Whether you have given birth to a child or have been instrumental in their care it is an honor and privilege to help prepare our children for today and guide them for their tomorrow. I pray that we each teach the younger generation The Excellence of Wisdom (Proverbs 8). I pray that we never give up on our children. I pray that our children never give up on us. Together we can all learn that, "A wise son heeds his father's instruction, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke." (Proverbs 13:1).
