PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — An Upper Marlboro woman has been convicted by a jury of extortion $10,000 to $100,000 and extortion by verbal threat.

In 2018, Nancy Levine, 66, contacted her prior neurosurgeon and falsely accused him of a fourth-degree sexual assault she said happened in 2011, court documents show. Levine told her surgeon she would not tell anyone with the hospital, licensing boards or the police if he paid her $50,000.

Levine will be sentenced Aug. 24, according to the Howard County State's Attorney's Office.
