Woman Fatally Hit Removing Debris From Road: Police

A 27-year-old Fort Washington woman was fatally hit by a passing vehicle after she left hers to remove an item from Indian Head Highway.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A 27-year-old Fort Washington woman was hit and killed by a passing vehicle after she stopped to remove debris from the road.

Katelin Rodriguez was traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway Nov. 28 shortly after 8:30 p.m. when she saw something in the road. She stopped and hopped out of her vehicle to grab the item. Another driver heading northbound hit her. Rodriguez was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.
