Woman Hits Man With Car And Takes Off, Then Turns Self In To Prince George's Police

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A Lanham man died Sunday night after he was hit by a woman who initially took off after the incident.

The hit-and-run happened at approximately 10 p.m. in the 9400 block of Lanham Severn Road. Prince George's police officers disclosed that the man was fatally hit in the roadway and pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman driving the vehicle who hit the man took off, but approximately three hours after the crash, she approached police and identified herself as the driver and led them to the vehicle involved in the incident, according to the police department. The man has not yet been identified.
