• UPDATE: MDE Sets Public Hearing and Comment Period for Water Quality Standards Review (mdcounties.org) — Residents will have a direct say on Maryland's water quality rules when the state holds a hybrid public hearing at the Catonsville Public Library on October 29 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting is part of MDE's 2025 Triennial Review, with a formal comment period running from October 16 through November 18, giving locals time to study proposed changes and submit feedback.
• Three Separate Baltimore County Shootings Leave One Dead, Two Injured (news-usa.today) — A weekend shooting on Ingleside Avenue in Catonsville left a 38-year-old man in critical but stable condition, one of three separate Baltimore County shootings that also included a fatal incident in Towson. Police say the attacks, which spanned Gwynn Oak to Catonsville, do not appear connected and are asking anyone with information to contact the county tip line as residents voice growing safety concerns.
• Luke Jones and Nestor begin to wave goodbye to Orioles season and Baltimore baseball perhaps indefinitely (baltimorepositive.com) — A local sports radio host is inviting fans to a breakfast baseball discussion at State Fair in Catonsville next Thursday, the 24th, featuring former pro Casper Wells and analyst Alan McCallum. The wide-ranging Orioles conversation centers on the team's late-season collapse, doubts about front-office leadership, and uncertainty around a looming MLB labor dispute that could shape Baltimore baseball's future.
