Catonsville Co-op Preschool to Celebrate 70th Anniversary
Anniversary party to be held April 25, from 1 to 5 p.m., at 6 Melvin Avenue

On April 25 the Catonsville Co-op Preschool will host its 70th Anniversary Celebration and Family Fun Day from 1 to 5 p.m. in the social hall at 6 Melvin Avenue. If you are a current Catonsville Co-op Preschool family, alumnus, or friend of the Co-op, come play classic family games with us. We will also have cake, free crafts for kids, photo booths, historic Co-op photo displays, and a classic dessert bake sale.
The Catonsville Co-op was founded in 1944 as a mother-run kindergarten and babysitting cooperative and converted to a preschool in 1968, when public kindergartens became more common. Today, it continues to be managed by parents who also take turns working in the classroom as teacher’s aides. This work allows the Co-op to keep tuition low and allows parents to be involved in their children’s early education. The Co-op employs two professional teachers.
