Comets Crack ESPN Statewide Football Poll
Off to a 4-0 start, Catonsville football is slotted 23rd in ESPN's rankings—its first ever appearance in the poll.
For the first time in team history, Catonsville has cracked the ESPNHS Maryland High School Football State Poll.
Following a 35-7 victory over Franklin last week, and an overall impressive 4-0 start, the Comets enter the poll in the No. 23 slot.
Catonsville has outscored its opponents 129 to 51 this season, including victories of 20 points or more over Franklin, Woodlawn (35-15) and Boys Latin (27-6). The Comets outlasted fellow Class 4A school Perry Hall, 32-23 in week two.

Perennial powerhouse Hereford (off to a 2-2 start this year) invades Comets Stadium this Friday, as Catonsville looks to remain unbeaten. With a win, the Comets would start the season 5-0 for the first time in the history of the program.
The Comets also received recognition in the Baltimore Sun Metro Poll, bumping up one spot to No. 13.
