Driver Killed, 3 Others Injured After Car Crashes Into Pole: Police

A crash that saw a driver leave the road and collide with a large pole ended with one man dead and several others injured.

CATONSVILLE, MD — An investigation is underway after a fatal crash in Catonsville ended with one driver dead and three others seriously injured.

The driver was identified as 35-year-old Bruce Campbell, who was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Baltimore County Police said the incident happened Thursday shortly before 3:30 p.m. on the 600 block of Frederick Road.

Investigators determined that Campbell, who was driving a 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan, was traveling on the eastbound lanes of Frederick Road when he left the roadway and crashed into a pole.

The three others injured in the crash suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police. The extent of their injuries was not detailed by authorities.
