• Baltimore County eyes crackdown on for-profit house parties (wbaltv.com) — Baltimore County officials are proposing steep fines for large, for‑profit backyard parties after Catonsville residents complained about frequent, rowdy events in their neighborhood this summer. The bill, inspired by similar measures in nearby counties, would penalize commercial party hosts up to $5,000 per incident. A public hearing is set for Sept. 15, giving Catonsville neighbors a chance to weigh in.
   

• MDOT Announces over $11-million in Grants for Bike, Pedestrian & Trail Projects Statewide (wgmd.com) — Catonsville is in line for a state Bikeways design grant as part of more than $11 million Maryland is investing in bike, pedestrian, and trail projects. The funding will help plan safer, more connected routes to parks, schools, and commercial areas. Other communities statewide are also receiving money for trails, bridges, and Safe Routes to School improvements.
