Jose Moran makes first team, DeAndre' Lane and Deniko Carter named to second team.

The Baltimore Sun unveiled its All-Metro selections this weekend and three Catonsville athletes were among those receiving honors.

Varsity soccer standout Jose Moran earn one of 13 first team All-Metro spots behind his team leading 16 goals and Catonsville’s first county championship in nearly 25 years.

“The kid just has it in him to be successful,” head coach Vic Vega told Patch after the Comets championship win over Franklin.

“He has vision like no other player I’ve ever seen. He sees everything. He paces the game, the game doesn’t pace him. He knows when to go fast, when to go slow and it’s just pretty hard to defend that kind of stuff.”

After a historic year for Catonsville football, both running back DeAndre’ Lane and wide receiver Deniko Carter made The Sun’s All-Metro offensive second team.
