• UPDATE: Attorney General Brown Secures $8.7 Million Judgment Against Lead Paint Inspector for Fraud (smnewsnet.com) — Maryland has permanently banned a lead paint inspector and secured an $8.7 million judgment after uncovering widespread fraudulent inspections, including one affecting a rental property on Bayside Road in Chesapeake Beach. Because more than 1,400 certificates were revoked statewide, local tenants and landlords in older rentals should confirm whether their units need reinspection and ensure children are tested for lead exposure if there’s any concern.
