In Tuesday night's America's Got Talent semifinal, an acrobatics and gymnastics athlete tangled with a ring of fire, possibly ending the Gymkana troupe's chances in the reality television competition.

Gasps filled the lecture hall where the rest of the University of Maryland Gymkana troupe members watched the semifinals during a viewing party.

"At this stage in the competition, that could prove a very, very bad error," judge Piers Morgan said.

The results show will air at 9 p.m. on NBC.
