A story capturing the roots of forest conservation in Maryland.

He went onto established the state’s first tree nursery in College Park. The film, “Mr. Besley’s Forest” explores the past, and encourages forest conservation. A reflection on 36-years of public service, and an example by which today’s children can learn woodland stewardship while listening to the music of the trees.
A documentary about Maryland’s first State Forester is an independent film endorsed by the Carroll County Forest Conservancy Board, and the Maryland Committee for Conservation History. Sunday, October 25th is the premiere screening of the film taking place at the Old Greenbelt Theatre in Greenbelt, Maryland.
