1. College Park Powerball Player Scores $200K at 7-Eleven (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A Powerball ticket sold at the 7-Eleven on Edmonston Road in College Park turned a $50,000 win into a $200,000 prize thanks to a $1 Power Play add-on. The Maryland Lottery says the ticket matched four white balls plus the Powerball, making it the state's fourth third-tier winner in two drawings, and the winner now has 182 days to claim the prize.
   

2. University of Maryland Police Search College Park for 22-Year-Old Student Dilan Shaan Ashar After He Was Last Seen in Terrapin Trail Garage Early Friday (centralrecorder.com) — University of Maryland police are searching the College Park campus and surrounding area for 22-year-old student Dilan Shaan Ashar, last seen around 2 a.m. Friday in Terrapin Trail Garage. Authorities describe him as 6-foot-2, about 185 pounds, wearing a black UMD hoodie, gray sweatpants and white shoes, and urge anyone with possible sightings, video, or information to contact campus police immediately.
   

3. IKEA to Close Locations in Maryland, DC, and Virginia (mocoshow.com) — IKEA is closing several smaller Plan and Order locations in Georgetown, Annapolis and Fairfax this fall, but confirms its full-size College Park store will remain open. Employees from closing sites may transfer to College Park, and customers with ongoing projects can continue working through other locations or online as the company shifts toward more delivery, pickup and digital services.
   

4. Montgomery County Native and Actor Kevin Saunders Faces Leukemia Again After Cancer Returns (mocoshow.com) — A Montgomery County–raised actor who once attended the University of Maryland in College Park is again fighting leukemia after the disease returned following remission. His family has relaunched a GoFundMe to help cover treatment, transportation, caregiving, and living costs as he undergoes chemotherapy and prepares for a possible bone marrow or stem cell transplant.
