2 Back-To-Back Fires Keep Howard County Crews Busy, Both Blazes Ruled Accidental
Howard County firefighters were called to 2 back-to-back fires; both were ruled accidental. One was a kitchen fire and a resident was hurt.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Not long after extinguishing a small fire in the Mayfield neighborhood of Elkridge, the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services were called to a house fire on Sedgwick Street about a mile away.
Engine 121 and Tower 2 arrived promptly and put out a fire in the kitchen of the home. One resident was taken to an area hospital for smoke inhalation and the American Red Cross has been called in to help the residents find temporary shelter.
The department has determined both fires to be accidental.
