2 DUI Charges For Columbia Drivers During Saturation Patrol

Police said seven people in Howard County, including two from Columbia, were charged with driving under the influence.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD — Seven people were charged with DUI overnight during a patrol aimed at taking impaired drivers off area roads, the Howard County Police Department reported Saturday. The enforcement detail was funded by a grant, police said.

Two of the drivers arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) were from Columbia, according to authorities: Mercedes Renee Palmer, 56, and Anthony Tyrone Webster, 46.

These drivers were charged in the patrol, which was conducted overnight Friday to Saturday, police said:

  • Kelsey Marie Anderson, 25, of Fulton
  • Keum Young Lee, 51, of Ellicott City
  • Michael Jefferson Meers, 32, of Nottingham
  • Mercedes Renee Palmer, 56, of Columbia
  • Roberto C. Cordones-Rodriguez, 30, of Severn
  • Dion Thuy Bang Ngoc Tran, 20, of Boyds
  • Anthony Tyrone Webster, 46, of Columbia

The legal blood alcohol limit for drinking and driving in Maryland is .08.

People are reminded to designate a sober driver if they plan to drink while out. Anyone who sees an impaired driver is asked to call 911.
