2 HCPSS Math Teachers Honored By Maryland Council Of Teachers Of Mathematics
The MCTM Awards are given annually, honoring outstanding math teachers at each educational level, along with mathematics leaders, across MD.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD ā Two Howard County Public School System secondary mathematics teachers recently were honored by the Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Scott Boettinger of Elkridge Landing Middle School was named the Outstanding Beginning Mathematics Teacher and Nina Diehl of Murray Hill Mill School was named the Outstanding Middle School Mathematics Teacher. They were recognized based on their excellence in mathematics education and their implementation of effective and research-informed practices in their daily work with students, staff and families, according to the MCTM.
The MCTM Awards are given annually, honoring outstanding math teachers at each educational level (elementary, middle, high school and college), as well as āmathematics leadersā who have served as a mathematics coach, district/school leader and/or other position in which they provided ongoing support to educators to support professional growth. Awardees are selected from schools across the state.

Boettinger and Diehl were honored at the MCTM Outstanding Educator Awards Banquet in October.
