2 Men Die From Injuries Sustained In Separate Incidents: Police
Laurence Hunter, 89, of Dayton and Richard Cager, 61, of Severn both have died from injuries sustained in two separate accidents.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Howard County police have been notified that a driver involved in a collision last month in Clarksville, Laurence Hunter, 89, of Dayton, died at the hospital Nov. 7 as a result of his injuries.
At approximately 4:58 p.m. Oct. 25, the 2002 Toyota Avalon driven by Hunter was traveling northbound on Ten Oaks Road just past Smallwood Court when it left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole. Hunter, the sole occupant in the vehicle, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition.
Howard County police also have been notified that a driver involved in a collision last month in Columbia, Richard Cager, 61, of Severn, died at the hospital as a result of his injuries sustained Nov. 7. Police say at approximately 12:53 p.m. Oct. 29, a 2004 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Cager was traveling westbound on Little Patuxent Parkway approaching Cedar Lane when it was struck by a 2019 Chrysler 300 traveling northbound on Cedar Lane through the intersection. Debris from the collision also struck a nearby bicyclist. The driver of the Chrysler and the bicyclist were not injured.

Cager was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in critical condition. Through preliminary investigation, police believe the Tracker was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes through a red light when it was struck.
