2 Pedestrians Robbed, Dog Park Burgled: Columbia Crime
Multiple men were robbed in Columbia this week while doing everything from getting the mail to sitting on a bench, according to police.

COLUMBIA, MD - The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in Columbia.
A man was robbed by three individuals in the 9600 block of Whiteacre Road. He was going to get mail around 9:51 p.m. on July 25 when one of the suspects presented a handgun and stole his cash. The three suspects left, and nobody was injured.
The suspects were described as follows:

- Black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds, wearing a black top and black pants
- Black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 130 to 140 pounds, wearing a black hoodie and black pants
- Black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 140 to 150 pounds, wearing glasses, a light blue shirt and blue pants
A man was robbed at knifepoint on a footpath in the 6000 block of Majors Lane. A cell phone and video games were stolen in the robbery, which occurred at 5:37 p.m. on July 25.
Screws were removed at the Columbia Dog Park in the 5900 block of Rivendell Lane, between July 24 and 25. Although access into the shed was gained, nothing was reported stolen.

Three men assaulted and robbed a man sitting on a bench in the 10400 block of Little Patuxent Parkway at 10:59 p.m. on July 24. His prescription medication and cell phone were stolen in the robbery. Nobody was seriously injured.
The suspects were described as follows:
- White male with brown hair, wearing a white shirt
- Black male with short hair, wearing an orange shirt
- Black male with short hair, wearing a black sweatshirt
A Columbia man was one of two people charged in connection with a burglary in Ellicott City. At 11:04 a.m. on July 24, two men got into a vacant apartment through the sliding glass door. Nothing was reported stolen. A 31-year-old Ellicott City man from Wheatfield Way and a 52-year-old Columbia man from Sun Circle way were charged with burglary. The Columbia man was also charged with paraphernalia possession.
Four tires and an airbag were stolen from the 12200 block of Bonnet Brim Course between July 23 and 24.
A 2014 Hyundai Elantra was reported stolen from the 7300 block of Eden Brook Drive at 7:02 a.m. on July 23. The vehicle had Maryland tags that say "2CY8159."
A 2014 Mazda 6 was reported stolen from the 9700 block of Summer Park Court at 6:16 a.m. on July 24.
A basement window was broken in the 9000 block of Nelson Way between June 18 and July 25. Jewelry was stolen in the residential burglary.
A man was robbed while walking on the sidewalk in the 5700 block of Cedar Lane. He was assaulted, and his reading glasses were stolen. The robbery happened around 10:45 p.m. on July 21. The suspect was described as a black man in his late 20s to early 30s who was 6 feet 2 inches tall, 190 pounds and wearing a short-sleeved black shirt and black pants. The victim was not seriously injured.
Cash was stolen in a home burglary in the 8300 block of Tamar Drive. It was unknown how the suspect entered the residence between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m. on July 21.
A woman was robbed by three acquaintances at gunpoint outside a residence in the 8900 block of Skyrock Court. The robbery occurred at around 5 p.m. on July 19. The suspects took her phone, and nobody was injured. Police are investigating whether the incident may have been drug related.
The front door to Physiotherapy Associates was shattered in the 8800 block of Centre Park Drive. The incident happened overnight between July 18 and 19. It was not clear whether anybody got inside and if anything was stolen.
A 2015 gray Toyota RAV4 was stolen from the 12400 block of Auto Drive. The vehicle was taken from Antwerpen Toyota around 6:20 p.m. on July 19.
The door to a shed was damaged, and its latch was broken. The burglary occurred in the 9300 block of Enquiry Court between July 14 and 19. It was not clear whether the suspect(s) got inside and if anything was stolen.
A 37-year-old Clarksville man was charged with six counts of burglary and three counts of theft related to a pair of business burglaries on July 13. The man, who lives in the 5600 block of Trotter Road, allegedly pried open the door to the River Hill Garden Center in the 12100 block of Clarksville Pike, then took equipment and tools plus two sets of golf clubs from a vehicle on the premises. At 2:45 a.m. on July 13 he is accused of prying the back door to get into Subway in the 6000 block of Daybreak Circle and stealing cash.
