2020 1st Alarm Fire Camp In HoCo Canceled Due To Coronavirus

St. Florian's Brigade two-day fire camp was scheduled for July 11-12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. but has since been canceled.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The 2020 1st Alarm Fire Camp hosted by St. Florian's Brigade July 11-12 has since been canceled due to the new coronavirus pandemic. The 1st Alarm Fire Camp is where kids ages nine to 14 learn more about fire service and what it takes to become a firefighter, including team building, a burn demonstration, CPR training, obstacle courses, running emergency scenarios and more.

The 1st Alarm Fire Camp typically is held at the James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center, 2200 Scott Wheeler Drive in Marriottsville. The program also empowers campers with life skills and professional guidance that encourages them to pursue a career in public safety. The Howard County Fire Department said that information about rescheduling the camp will be shared on social media.
